Seminar: Dr. Larry Pounds, Plants of the Cumberland Trail
April 20 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Dr. Larry Pounds is an expert on Tennessee’s rare and endangered plants. Currently he works as a freelance environmental consultant, mostly surveying project sites for plants on state or federal lists for protection. He lead a botanical survey of the Cumberland Trail with the Tennessee Native Plant Society, making lists of all plants along some stretches of the trail. The Cumberland Trail is projected to be about 300 miles long passing through beautiful wild country, which provides access to remote areas where no one had studied the rare plants. So, Larry and his son Ben walked the Cumberland Trail, studied the plants and wrote a book about their adventures called: Wildly Strolling Along.
The Tennessee Native Plant Society is hosting monthly Native Plant Seminars during 2021. These seminars are held via Zoom on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Central (7:30 p.m. Eastern) and lasting about one hour. All members, and potential members, are welcome to join the meeting at no cost. The link to join this seminar is: https://zoom.us/j/95933234646?pwd=cHhBeUNuaGdWbitDTElqbFE3bmk4Zz09.
