Seminar: Rosanna Ohlsson on Collecting & Saving Seed from Native Plants

July 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

“Are you interested in using native plants in your landscape? One way to acquire plants cheaply is to collect seed in your area from plants in wild populations. This is a budget-friendly way to incorporate color into your landscape and support pollinators and other wildlife. It can be done on a small scale and the returns are considerable.” Excerpt from Tennessee Conservationist, September/October 2023

A career that began as a Tennessee dairy farmer got ditched for horticultural science, then an appreciation of native flora and conservation. After working as a naturalist in Louisiana and collecting seed for conservation in Texas, it was nice to be transplanted back to home turf in Tennessee.

Seminars are held via Zoom on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Central Time (7:30 p.m. Eastern Time) and last about one hour. All members and potential members are welcome to join the meeting. The link to join this seminar is:
