Birdfoot Violet
Viola pedata
Undoubtedly the most beautiful of our native violets, the bicolored form of the Birdfoot Violet usually
comprises a small percentage of the plants one encounters, but definitely leaves a huge impact with those
lucky enough to see them. Look for these special wildflowers among large colonies of the uniformly lavendar
flowered forms in April across Tennessee except the western half of West Tennessee.
