Pawpaw
Asimina triloba

A small tree of moist slopes and bottomland hardwood forests, it is famous for its large banana-like fruit
that ripens in late summer.  The flowers hang of the branches like maroon bells appearing before the leaves.
The Zebra Swallowtail, Tennessee's state butterfly, uses Pawpaw as its host plant.
